How to Add Screenshots

Anyone can easily provide screenshots for any of the maps.

First, you need to set up a Flickr account. (free)
Then join the SC Map DB Images group.

Now you are ready to start contributing screenshots! Here's how:

  1. Once you have some decent screenshots, Upload them to Flickr. Be sure to set their privacy as public, select "Show more upload settings", then set their content type as screenshots. It'd be a good idea to go here and set these as your default upload settings.
  2. Click "describe your photos".
  3. Under Batch operations, tag all the images with the map's name (exactly the same as their wiki page title, but WITHOUT spaces). Scroll down and hit "Save this batch".
  4. Go to Tags, then click on the tag you just made.
  5. For a single image, just click on it and select "Send to group".
  6. For multiple images, go to "Edit these photos in a batch".
    • Hit cancel on the page that comes up. Then select "Send to group".
  7. Select "SC Map DB Images" and wait a moment.

These images will now automatically be added to the Flickr slideshow on the map's page.

Note:

  • If you are new to Flickr, your images won't initially be publicly viewable in the slideshows. Flickr must first review your account as "safe", which is done soon after you upload at least 5 images.

Screenshot taking tips:

  • Using sv_cheats 1 in combination with cl_noclip 1, godmode 1, or cl_notarget 1 may help you to get good shots more easily.
  • Try to show off the map's architecture and interesting areas.
  • Take and upload as many screenshots as you want, as long as they are each fairly different.
