						 <p>I’m trying to remember the name of a map. It’s medium-sized. You start in a room with some boxes, grab a grenade, and blow up a box after defeating a few enemies.</p> <p>After that, there are more enemies outside, and at one point you get a crowbar, break a door, and open a vent on the roof, which requires co-op. Two gonomes spawn after the player enters the vent, and the next part is entering a room and unlocking it from the inside.</p> <p>Thanks!</p>

						 <p>I was looking at a map pack and noticed that one of the maps seems to have had all of its images removed (from all of his maps). Based on the history, it looks like this was done intentionally by the mapper himself. I tried to find more information on the forum, since I recently saw that one mapper asked for all of his content to be removed, but I couldn’t find anything related to this case.</p> <p>Could anyone tell me if there would be any issue with me adding information back? I don’t want to go against anyone’s wishes, but I also don’t know if the mapper explicitly requested this.</p> <p>PS: I didn’t mention any names to avoid exposing anyone.</p>

						 <p>As you know, i abandoned this site and moved my projects to gamebanana and github.</p> <p>Since then, you have been editing the maps against my will and keeping them outdated being aware of it.</p> <p>I disagree with all your dishonest map edit mislabeling, false reports to claim that something was fixed or your all your worthless edits, you are even provoking &quot;map differ&#8230;&quot; errors.<br /> I understand the purpose of this site has became to make their managers some sort of authorities over maps, so they can feel they<br /> are contributing something to the community. Leave me and my projects out of it. I have been active for ten years and i plan to be a lot longer, i do not need your interference.</p> <p>Your edits are causing issues, you are making the community play outdated versions.</p> <p>So, stop editing the map files, delete them from this site and delete the map pages. 						 <p>I'm seeing &quot;recovered&quot; maps from the TWLZ server archive that was uploaded early this year. Some of those maps I didn't upload here because I got them from private tests. My fault for uploading them to TWLZ. I loaded them a few times years ago then totally forgot I did that. I don't host the archive and can't remove the maps now.</p> <p>Don't upload flu_asdasd nor anything else by RNG. greendale I think was private and soctom is still around, so ask first. I haven't seen illusion for over a decade but I'm pretty sure oddity was private. Fox's maps are probably fine to upload because we tested them publicly, but they weren't all finished. trempler_weapons I got from a private test. The cinema maps need <a href="https://github.com/wootguy/display">this plugin</a> (broken in 5.26). I made _b1 and Nexy made _ghetto. Nexy also made rust_tycoon. idk what he'd want. 						 <p>There is this server that I like a lot. It has 66% checkpoints, and there are always a lot of players, and it just seems lively and fun. But there are players on there that get off on killing other players. It's not because of anything I said or did. They do it to me and other players. And I just don't get it. It's not fun. At least not for me. If I ask why they are doing it, they say &quot;because I can&quot;. I'm too much of a noob to know how they are even killing me and other people. Somehow they hit people with crowbars and make them fly like 500 feet in the air. Other times they just turn you into gibs, but not sure how. I think crowbars. But they also use other weapons too. They always kill me on elevators. Anyway. I can ignore it and keep playing. But I would like to know how to make my own server. Basically I want the Half-Life map and maybe They Hunger. But I like those 66% Checkpoint things and I don't know how to implement that.</p>

						 <p>Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me get fast download working.</p> <p>I've been trying to get an Apache server working for fast http download, mostly for LAN use but it'd be nice to get it working in case we want others from the internet to join in. The guide on the website is a bit outdated since the example config files don't work properly for newest version of Apache requiring too much modification. The furthest I got trying to that to work is the server requesting the files from Apache but Apache returning &quot;404&#160;196&quot; errors even though files worked fine through the browser.</p> <p>Instead, I tried testing 2 preconfigured Apache setups, 1 from Apache Lounge and the other from xampp. Both are pre-configured to share files from the htdocs folder so there's not much difference in using 1 over the other. Putting the svencoop_addon folder in there makes all files accessible from a browser. Using a dedicated server (svends.exe) I set sv_downloadurl to &quot;<a href="http://127.0.0.1:80/svencoop_addon/">http://127.0.0.1:80/svencoop_addon/</a>&quot;. If join the server the game downloads it from Apache and I can see from the access log that the files were accessed by &quot;Valve/Steam HTTP Client&quot;.<br /> But this only works once. If I disconnect from the server, delete the map file, and rejoin, it downloads the slow way and Apache shows no attempt by Sven Coop to request the files. The only way to get it to fast download again is to have the client completely exit the game and start it up again. I'm not sure why the server stops requesting the files from Apache. It also only seems to work with the first connection to the server. If a 2nd person joins, there is no fast download. I have also tried this using a listenserver and setting sv_downloadurl in the listenserver.cfg but http fast download doesn't work at all. I tried with sv_lan 0 and 1 but no difference in behavior.</p> <p>Having another computer with different steam account in the same LAN produces the same behavior. I have also tried using the LAN ip in the sv_downloadurl instead of the localhost ip and it makes no difference. Apache has been allowed through Windows firewall for both public and private connections.<br /> Can anyone share how they have managed to get it to work? It's mostly to avoid having to manually copy thousands of files everytime some arrives to join a LAN game. Ideally Sven Coop would update the slow download method but it's probably hardcoded to the old engine.</p> <p>As a side note, one thing that's annoying is that the LAN and Friends tabs of the join game window do not work. Even though the computers are in the same LAN, whether using a dedicated server or listen server, the LAN tabs reports that there are no local games found and the friends tab shows no friends playing, even if both steam accounts are friends. Everyone would have to connect manually through the console.<br /> I suppose it's not the end of the world if I can't get the fast download and join game tabs to work, but I've run a dedicated Left 4 Dead 2 server with sourcemod for LAN use and we can all connect to an 8 player lobby with no issues. I'm guessing the old codebase has too many quirks.</p> <p><strong>Edit:</strong> Finally got things working, had to find and work around a combination of issues. By using developer logging in the console, I confirmed that the server passes along the url of the fastdl http server to client. So using 127.0.0.1 wouldn't work. However when I tried using the LAN ip address of the apache server it still wouldn't work for other computers on the same LAN. I figured out that for whatever reason when I start the dedicated game server I must manually load a map after starting it before any clients connect. If players join the server right after it starts, they will run into fastdl issues. No idea why. Finally, since it's recommended to add additional maps to the svencoop_addon folder and not the base svencoop so as not to pollute the main directory, I am only sharing the svencoop_addon directory. However the server creates the soundcache files for all maps in the svencoop/maps/soundache folder, causing those files to be downloading from the dedicated server instead. So I ended up using the &quot;Alias&quot; command in the apache server config to redirect all requests for that folder from the svencoop_addon/maps/soundcache folder.<br /> I'm sure there might be a better way to have Apache pull files from both folders at the same time especially based on the old example config provided at the sven coop website but this workaround works.</p>

						 <p>I think that around four years ago, I had Half-Life installed and I downloaded some maps (mods) from <a href="https://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/mods">https://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/mods</a>. It was pretty easy to install them. I don't remember how I did it but it shouldn't take long to figure out. This will create a Half-Life entry in my Library on Steam, and one additional entry for every Half-Life mod I install.</p> <p>But now I'm using Sven Co-op, and I like the idea of just having that and only that installed.</p> <p>So if I want to try a new Half-Life mod that isn't on scmapdb (<a href="https://www.moddb.com/mods/hl-rally">https://www.moddb.com/mods/hl-rally</a>), what should I do? Should I install it through Half-Life, request for it to be converted and uploaded on scmapdb, or is there a way I can install it myself and play it through Sven Co-op (but just by dragging and dropping files into the right locations, not by converting or editing anything)? It makes no sense if all your computer is getting is the .BSP and .RES but not any of the files that the .RES is supposed to get, how is the .RES supposed to actually do anything?
