Can I get a solid answer on map year tags? There appears to be difference in opinion particularly among myself, @cold_blood3d, @w00tguy123, and @Dynamte.
Particularly for conversions. Look at the 6 maps I've converted with the TFC tag.
- Artifact: Originally built in 2003, converted to SC in 2020
- The Game (Kristine Edition): Originally built in 2001, converted to SC in 2020
- The Game 2 (Kristine Edition): Originally built in 2002, converted to SC in 2020
- The Climb 1: Originally built in 2003, converted to SC in 2019
- The Climb 2: Originally built in 2003, converted to SC in 2019
- The Climb 3: Originally built in 2010, converted to SC in 2019
There appears to be flip flopping going on with the year tag. I first thought that the year of conversion release should be used, but that got changed to the year of original build for The Climb maps, which is fine by me. Going by year of original build appears to follow suit with all other TFC ports with the exception of The Cube, which I know was originally 2004 or close to that, not 2009.
I don't really care which way around it is. Just looking for consistency. — Right now the consistent way would be to use the original build year, though if that's wrong let's update all conversions to get consistent on year of conversion and continue from there.
Thanks,
Adam Reece.
