Description
TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH:
Hello, I made this Argentina map in Sven Co-op 😅
Honestly, it took me quite a lot of work to make. I spent several hours learning the editor, experimenting with different things, accidentally breaking everything, and fixing errors that I didn't even understand at first. There were moments when the map simply didn't work the way I expected, and I had to rebuild entire sections from scratch. I also had to learn how to optimize certain parts because otherwise everything would lag, and that involved a lot of trial and error before it became reasonably stable.
I built everything little by little: first the map's foundation, then the buildings, streets, and details. Many times, something that seemed simple turned out to be complicated, such as properly aligning textures, setting up the lighting, or making sure certain areas didn't feel empty. I also tried several different ideas, and many of them were eventually discarded because they didn't turn out the way I wanted.
The map is inspired by the reality of Argentina and is a direct criticism of the country's situation. I wanted to represent the deterioration, corruption, and economic disaster that many people associate with years of poor political management, including the government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. That's why the map has a rather bleak atmosphere, with neglected areas, signs, partially ruined structures, and details that reinforce that overall theme.
I also tried to make it more than just a visual experience. As players explore it, I wanted them to feel that atmosphere: semi-abandoned places, areas that look like they're falling apart, and a generally darker style than most typical maps. I didn't want to create something clean or perfect, but rather something that felt more realistic within the limits of the game.
Beyond that, I tried to make it enjoyable to play and not just decorative. I adjusted paths, spaces, and areas so that players could move through it comfortably without it becoming frustrating. I'm sure there are still things that could be improved, though, since I'm still learning and this is one of the first maps I've made with this level of detail.
It's not perfect, but I put a lot of hours, patience, and testing into it before reaching this result. If you give it a try, any feedback is welcome, whether it's about performance, design, or details that could be improved. 😄

Since this is the author's first map, it's easy to overlook many of its shortcomings. The map still feels quite raw and could be improved in several areas, especially visually, but it's a solid start.
I think adding more visual detail, increasing the number of enemies along the way, and extending the map a little would make it much more engaging. Something with a stronger shoot 'em up feel… Sven Co-op style!
