Description

You fight yourself through a Star-Trek Borg-Cube!

Additional info

• Includes lots of custom content, such as textures, sky, sounds, and models.
• Tip: Ammo is scarce. Aim for the head.

GENERIC FIXES

• Used the original maps as a base to ripent the .ent through import, bypassing the version mismatch errors in the maps ripented by newbspguy's current bug that the ripents of other people are having due to copy pasting brushes. Checked for errors and the maps work fine without version mismatch on servers.
• Changed some env_messages to game_text
• Changed env_model to item_generic
• Changed monstermakers into squadmakers, with proper translated spawnflags
• Fixed squadmakers without spawnflags or missing spawnflags, to have proper spawnflags
• Changed info_player_start to info_player_deathmatch
• Changed env_beam's negative StrikeTime value, to positive values (this could've caused crashes due to overflows)
• Changed env_xenmakers that were spawning monsters, into squadmakers with proper external xenmaker entity
• Gave many alien monsters spawned through squadmakers, a properly colored xenmaker effect
• Replaced item_security and brush based item collectibles, with item_inventory
• Used Wayne's ripents as a base. His guide arrows and wrong way signs have been replaced with more immersive things like lights, props, breakables with hud displaynames, enemies, etc… Except in maps that have a theme where it would be plausible to have direction signs.
• Enemies with humongous amounts of health have been toned down a lot
• Maps with low ammo at start have now extra weapons and ammo at spawn
• game_text messages have been tweaked to be less intrusive, away from the crosshair, indicating the character name that speaks if intended, and sometimes giving them proper color that indicates ally or enemy.
• Typos in game_texts and displaynames have been fixed. Usage of "\n" (new lines) in displaynames has been abolished
• Fixed typos on entities making them not recognizable by the game
• Fixed netnames when intended to be used as displaynames on old maps. Now you can see those npcs true names!

borgcube:

• Changed monstermakers to squadmakers
• Kept guide arrows, extra npcs and other fixes by Wayne
• Changed some guide sprites to glows for more immersion, and made the rest holograms
• Added damage to players and reduced HP to enemies
• Fixed shield on the last boss
• Added unused buttons for the queen boss fight. Now you must destroy tubes, and push the buttons to turn off the shield
• Removed health values from monsters and put them in the skill.cfg for easier and global difficulty edit
• Added trigger hurt to water that also affects npcs that might fall
• Upped damage from some doors and the lift and its traps
• Added cooldown to teleport to help with telefrags
• Added angles to teleport destination that were facing the wall instead of the hallway
• Fixed the camera easteregg button to illusionary instead of wall, and added one more camera showing off the full secret credits
• Fixed 2 borgs being stuck
• Added sparks to some buttons to make them stand out
• Made one of the doors be slower with louder sound to make it stand out for players to know where to go next
• Replaced ambient generic music with ambient music and deleted one extra music entity that was duplicated for some reason
• Barriers in map 2 before the laser room have been fixed: now they are func wall toggle, the lasers do damage and the buttons have hints, sounds. The triggers have been fixed as well
• The laser room door has double speed now, to stop those bunnyhoppers from rushing ahead
• Added more lasers behind the laser room so players are obligated to push the button to disable the laser room
• Moved the queen fight start trigger further away from those lasers
• Added more time to objective texts
• Fixed daktarg crowbar draw animation speed
• Fixed skills cfgs that were outdated using old commands

+ Deluxe v2 - February 16, 2021 (by Garompa)

• Based on kalo22's version, adding more enemies, enemy variety, weapons, bug fixes and improvements
• Fixed spawn points and orientations
• Added actual Borg model variants with sound replacements included
• Added sounds for the aliens and kept only some of them for nostalgia and file structure conservation (as guard dogs to the player's prison cells at the start)
• Added custom models for grenade, mp5 and crowbar in the style of star trek (crowbar also has hud sprites)
• Changed the egon gun phaser to a gauss gun phaser (no files are being replaced)
• Edited the ending with some custom sounds for the queen's death instead of a generic horror sound
• Edited skill.cfgs since things were too easy (could use some tweaking if people find it too difficult)
• Edited map .cfgs to accomodate the weapons and gameplay

Actually, the Alien models were placeholders. He asked, but apparently no one ever made him a Borg model.

late to the party here, years late. But the original map (found somewhere) comes with a borg playermodel, the idea behind it i think was to convert that model to be used for the zombie. Now with kalo22's ripent we will add it to the list to touch it up and see if we can make models and sounds better, and have borgs actually shoot.
