Description

Before RedShift there was CryoOrigins. Before CryoOrigins there was CryoRage.
The rage energy from the ragecubes of the ragemaps has been unleashed and you have to find the way to restore the dimension's balance to find the exit. Collect artifacts, coins, flowers and cubes to find the way to the ragecube and destroy it! Once the rage subsides… the origins may begin.

These maps were recovered, bugfixed and merged by the community into 3 maps.
These maps are from the CryoRage and CryoOrigins series by Keen, lose ideas that are mashed up into a series with help from the support of patreons and subscribers. It seems to be that this developed into RedShift but that also did not see the light of day.

Cryo Origins was a project between many mappers. Another map in the series was cryo-origins:wayne, but was made standalone for different reasons

Map1:

• Edited map1 .cfg: It no longer has "nomedkit", now the starting area has a player_weaponstrip, and the cfg now has the pistol and crowbar back
• Fixed first garg that will now spawn after a trigger
• Fixed all portals and shortcuts, and added another one in the lava cave, the portals are now labeled as "shortcut" or "start" with a sign on top so you know which one sends you back to spawn and which one is a shortcut. Those without labels just go to the next section in the map = progress
• The _start and _end multi managers for map change have been fixed and will not remove entities, respawn players or change spawns after the main hub map is reached. Also some spawns were removed and shortcuts fixed to accomodate this

Map2:

• Removed info_player_deathmatch(r3k1_spawn1) and fixed the teleport shortcut at spawn not being triggered. Also now its labeled
• The _end multi manager for r3k1 is now fixed, it no longer removes entities from the map, it only stops the annoying alarm sound

• Merged the following maps into 3 maps: cryoorigins_0_intro_prealpha, cryo2021_alpha1, cryoorigins1a, cryotimfox_alpha, cryoorigins1c, cryoorigins1_beta, r3k1, cryo2023h
• Unembedded all textures and put them in cryorageorigins_r.wad, also made use of kbd_r.wad
• Made the keen birthday areas reminiscent of the original map's areas by fixing textures, models and positions of things to be 1to1
• Bugfixed the hell out of everything, also adding objectives and a somewhat lore reason for it all
• Merged .mdls
• Edited references to files so sounds, sprites and models are not duplicated in the folders. Now only one of the files is used in all maps. Reducing filesize.
• Added .cfg files
• Other stuff i just cant remember and doesnt matter
• Regenerated res files and packed into a zip
