Description

Your objective is to enter the underground area. Survive. Find the exit portal!

Additional info

Hints:

• To access under the temple you need to get to the roof and find the sacred ashes, then put them in the altar's braziers
• You need to find items and pull levers to access different areas
• The help.jpg picture is outdated. This co-op port only has one way to go and many of the paths from the picture will be barricaded. But it still works as a guide.

+ Conversion fixed v1 - July 28, 2022 (by Garompa)

• Added faraon3.bsp and faraon4.bsp
• Fixed an absurd amount of bugs
• Fixed spawn points
• Removed unused legacy entities
• Blocked paths and made the maps straightforward/one-way, to overcome the fact that they cannot be merged
• Fixed all the grunt spawns, so they are not all over the place, and they spawn properly according to each room, preventing them from spawning from nowhere in front of players too
• Fixed all the triggers positions and targets
• Fixed all the doors and their sounds
• Fixed the horrible truck speed, and its sounds
• Added more spawn points
• Added a bit of extra puzzles. This stops rushing and breaking the map as they have many entrances
• Fixed CFG files
• Removed unused files
• Added custom desert grunts, mummies and etc, using default content (no extra files required)
• Replaced zombies and alien slaves with mummies, using default content (no extra files required)
• Added some egyptian music, using default content (no extra files required)
• Added a couple more enemies, and moved others
• Fixed and added extra spawn point locations for advancing
• Added Odin as an enemy NPC miniboss
• Fixed bad position of levers and other movables
• Added hints on what to do with repositioning boxes or using arrow sprites
• Added an unhealthy amount of func_clips and func_walls to stop players from going out of bounds or rushing the maps
• Made triggers spawn enemies in the next room, so grunts don't all spawn at once at map start
• Replaced the monstruous use of grunt_repel as a squadmaker with actual squadmakers
• Removed the corpse stay flag on all npcs
• Added clips for npcs in areas that they just would climb walls or throw themselves to pits
• Added more grunt variations, such as rpg and snipers
• Fixed weapon progression with cfgs
• Fixed sounds and effects of the boulder
• Added texts to let players know the objectives and the current situation (door x was opened, lever activated, etc)
• Fixed position of fire sprites, they no longer float that much
• Added fire sound to each fire sprite that had it missing
• Fixed the trigger_hurts of the fires so they do burn damage, and a million damage for those pesky xpmodders
• And a lot of other fixes and additions I can't remember, but be sure that there were a ton of small details

I have ripented a conversion based on the latest recovered maps that were missing previously, enjoy

EDIT: As a bit of interesting info. This mappack was never finished by the author. faraon5 was never released, nor it can be found anywhere. This version ends in faraon4 with a portal instead.

faraon2.bsp has a map change trigger to faraon1 (the previous map) right next to spawn. The player is spawned looking at this and any player would just press forward and screw the map.

Can someone get that map changer invisible wall out of there and fix this? Just turn that trigger into a simple invisible wall!

you can just slam "nomaptrans faraon1" in the map cfg of faraon2.
