Welcome to HookWars!
HookWars is a map that revolves around using hook mechanics to compete and hook players. It offers two gamemodes, competitive and sandbox.
Gamemodes
Competitive Mode: Test your skills against other players in a high-stakes environment.
- Team-Based Mode: Choose from 50, 100, 150, or 200 points to win. The team with the most kills reaches the chosen point threshold to win.
- Player-Based Mode: Choose from 100, 250, 500, 1000, or 1500 frags to win. The player with the most kills reaches the chosen frag threshold to win.
Sandbox Mode: Enjoy a more relaxed experience with two options:
- Normal Sandbox: Play without an ending, focusing on creativity and exploration.
- Fun Sandbox: Start with 2,500 gold for a head start on purchasing upgrades and items.
Shop
Access the in-game shop by typing /shop in the chat. Here, players can purchase a wide variety of upgrades and items to enhance their gameplay. Some of the available items include:
Wooden Barricades: Use these to block enemy hooks and create strategic defenses.
Bridges: Build bridges to traverse gaps.
Monster Baits: Spawning Gonomes as bait.
Hold E + R keys to switch placement mode for baits, bridges, and barricades. Press R to show the visual indicator, and press R once more to place the item. Note: In bait mode, pressing R will place the gonome immediately without a visual indicator.
Economy
Earn coins by hooking other players:
Hooking Another Player: Earn 5 coins for each successful hook.
Killing Another Player: Earn an additional 10 coins for each kill.
Player Stats
Keep track of your progress with the /stats chat command, which provides detailed information about your current stats.
Player Stats Management
The player data script registers the progression of players and retains it even if they rejoin. This allows players to pick up right where they left off.
