Description
This map is a short walktrough about killing some aliens in Serious Sam from the mercadillo, may be a little big laggy (a lot) because i don't
know how to properly optimize big areas in the level editor, not recommended for weak pc users. By the way, you can try using the definitive
classic pack mod to reduce some polygons and maybe improve your fps.
Anyways, this map doesn't have much things going on behind, just made a little background story to give an explanation of what you are doing here and there.
But first, you gotta know that this map is made to be played with atleast one more person, though you can completely finish this little campaign solo.
But anyways, if you're playing alone, i recommend you to use the insurgency 2 weapon buy menu that can be found on github.
Story: Mental's forces have rushed trough the Karnak temple to take control over it and kill all the enemy force in their way (me shoot bad alien die)
But, that's not all, after cleansing the karnak temples, you receive a message telling that the same
forces are going to plant a whole madafaking bomb to blow up hatshepsut (wich is used as an ammo depot because yeah let's not care about this
place's history and just fill this up with military armament)
The mission is very simple and lifeless, all you gotta do is kill everyone because the serious sam games are about killing aliens and nothing more. My small brain could not think about any other event happening in a Sven Co-op map based on Egypt from Serious Sam.

These 5 maps were made a whole lot ago, as back then i though i knew, but in reality i didn't know how to do decent maps, so when i learned more things i started seriously mapping the real deal, and
spent a while trying to make the maps play funny and look pretty enough for anyone (i had to remake almost everything and suffered with a lotta things i didn't know how to fix till i figured everything out almost by myself), except for the africanian children with home made computers.
I Uploaded this in a new page cause i want it to get new ranking, if there are any errors please comment it down below because
i'm not so good at noticing errors, and all the ones i found were fixed. (unless i forgot some even though i play tested all the maps a lot )
also, this time i remade the ssa_karnak_temple level and made proper .res files.
If you played this i hoped you liked it and had a fun time instead of a really painful one.

Marshfreakinghoppers: mapper, custom weapons animator (classic shotgun - sam 2 colt - tommygun - sam 2 grenade launcher - dual suzis)
Rubber Soul: playtester, w & p models of the suzis, p model of the sam2 gl, rigging the knife - revolver - shotgun - rpg - minigun of the old version (green is still present) and motivation he didn't know he gave me, from the time when i thought this would be an abysmal failure.

the design could be better but still good , really fun

i notice there alot of empty area's , lots of repetition….etc
i mean the first map was good , the other maps could be add like more details , more props , more optimization
i dont really know if the original serious sam serious have this , i mean the map great….fps is good but need more
optimization (use gl_wireframe 2 to see in map) , about empty area's , you can like add more props and maybe some terrain , custom models…
this is it.
allright, i'll be taking that in mind, but the next update is just going to be to fix the biggest error in the files.

This map captures the essence of sam well. Lots of memorable parts are in and it's fun to play. Good job with the music, too.
I think the animated lights should be disabled because they cause stuttering even with modern hardware. Way too many lightmaps are being animated. Surprisingly the 7k wpoly is not much of a problem.
i remember placing like, only 2 animated lights in the entire campaign so i won't touch anymore of that, also i'm going to update the most problematic map that had the worst performance.

In the room with the pillar it seems that looking at the pillar causes lag.

The current download link seems to be missing many textures even though the .wad is present and referenced currently in the RES files.
i have absolutely no idea why that happens, did you download the files from scmapdb or from a server?

That was a quick response! But it's all good, I figured it out. It's a client-side issue. I used to host Hatshepsut From Serious Sam Alpha on my server which used a .wad file of the same name. Therefore many players still had that on their local systems, and so when loading these new maps the newer .wad was not distributed to them (SC will not distribute files if the players already have one with the same name).
The solution was for clients to simply delete their existing .wad file and dl the new one from the server.
Its not client side. Its on the author to check that there are no other maps using the same name of wads as their map is, or if both maps that have them are from the same author then update both with the new updated wad.
allright, if i update this map later then i will change the wad name so it doesn't make anymore trouble, i never though about this happening, sorry.

.res files do not have the wad included. (edit: I already read above sorry)

Karnak_enter map is pretty good for experience serious sam style ambush.
(problem issues map)
Karnak_Enter_complex map case "models/ginsmodels/lag_palm240_256.mdl" is missing in file.
Karnak_Temple map.. yap i can see issues maybe you can try to use bspguy to fix.
LZ_BOSS-MM is connected by 2 kingpins but LZ_EMM this trigger is nothing connect to trigger from something. maybe that trigger active after kill 2 kingpins or Baby Gargantua ?
Tor boss didnt spawn proper.
also HECU soldier too much spawn a lot (i checked.. total 20~25 soldiers spawned)
overall balance is good and enjoyable with some people also solo play too !
i will look forward to next serious sam alpha project.
damn i think those errors happen because i forgot to try karnak_temple after making some changes, at least someone fixed it because i'm pretty tired and i don't have all the world's time now.
i'm glad you enjoyed it, but i don't think i'm going to be making anymore serious sam maps.
