Played this map with a buddy of mine, very difficult and grindy at many points, it certainly was an experience. I wouldn't really put this on any top ten lists of mine, but I won't say it's the worst map I've played thus far. There are also secrets too, 3 on leprechaun3 and 1 big one on leprechaun3-2, and lemme just say, those were some of the most secret, secrets I think I've ever seen. Honestly they were more developer exclusive secrets that only people with "too much free time" (*wink wink*) would actually even have the remote possibility of finding. I dunno if you still read these comments Penguin, but if you do, I just want to tell you that your last secret was one of the most impossible things I've ever had the pleasure of finding. gg.
The last secret has wrong code info..
To solve the last secret with green cubes, ure "supposedly" have to find the hidden code in previous map inside the rock.. There is a problem though.. one of the digits is wrong. So there is no proper way to know except to use ripenting.. I did this secret a long time ago using map decompilation, its very elaborate and in the end you just get a "hall of fame" for the developer himself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
By the way, the same applies to another Penguin's map called "assaultmesa2.bsp"
I can't believe that something I made almost 20 years ago in high school still has players trying it. :)
Back in SC's heyday, it was usually like 4-8 players, hence the difficulty.
I originally planned Leprechaun to be a super fast build, but it spiraled pretty quick into this 4 map pack. Map 3 got divided partially due to the secret area, which I pretty much made to drag random people into checking out (and dying a lot…jump puzzles). The one in Assaultmesa2-2 made the final boss super easy with the Egon gun. The code puzzle was my shot at trying to make the code have to be shot in sequence…fun programming exercise. Pretty much designed for me to share with other players (to show their friends, etc).
Pretty sure we could customize enemies HP back then (and model). Most of the rooms were built like arenas with waves of enemies (again for lots of players) because usually lives were infinite.
For the endings, those were random, because I was mean back then xD . I used a lot of random firing entity spawners to keep things fresh.
I'm pretty sure I have the original map files on one of my very old hard drives…I should just post them at some point.

The only map that works is the last map.
In leprechaun1 after the door next to GMan opens up there is no way to progress just like Teh_Bucket said.
In leprechaun2 after hitting the two buttons in the spiky room, and killing the zombies in the next room, nothing else happens and again no way to progress.
in leprechaun3 after killing the panthereyes you can drop to a hole where you kill some aliens and then you hit a button which opens the elevator door, but the elevator goes down immediately at the same time the door opens again stopping progress.
Even using cheats to noclip to the elevator, this triggers the elevator doors at the bottom floor to close and never open again.
If you noclip again to get through those doors the little houses that are next have no way around. No door opens and no wall blows up or is breakable.
Maps are totally broken.
Las map, leprechaun3-2 works fine, except for the endings. There are 3 possible endings:
1- gman escapes with the crystal
2- gman "dies" and mission complete
3- gman activates self destruct and you die
So far, I don't know what triggers each ending or if they are totally random.
Played this in 5.18 today, it all works.
Not sure about the ending conditions though. Seems to be random. Definitely not time related as I've spent a few hours on my own going through it and won, but with 12 of us doing it within the hour we lost.
Thanks,
Adam Reece.
It's random. I've had the good and bad ending, without looking at the ents, pretty sure it's purely chance.
Seems to be broken now: after the door next to GMan opens up, there is no way to progress.
An essential classic, but a little on the tough side. Still fantastic.
