Description

You are part of a special branch of the military tasked with going into the classified research facility "Black Mesa" and extracting a scientist named "Gordon Freeman", alive. You are not part of the main military force sent into the facility to "cleanup". You may encounter some military forces who are friendly and will help you, and you may encounter some who are hostile. You are given permission to open return fire to protect yourself if you are fired upon.

• Kept fixes from v2d
• Exported and reimported .ent files from maps 1, 2, 3 into the original maps from the first version because v2d had corrupted data in the second map (brush model 231 existed for some reason and although it was not being used by the map or referenced at all, it caused clients to crash because their maps didn't have that model). You will need to redownload the maps.

• Fixed spawn rooms in map 4 and 5 to be consistent
• Changed .cfg starting equipment in all maps, specially 4 and 5, so players start with almost nothing in map 4, and weapons present in the maps were not included in the cfgs so players are supposed to pick them up during gameplay (before this, the players started with weapons that were already laying around in the map, making those pickupeable items unnecessary). Also fixed starting armor to zero in map 4
• Added a slightly bit of custom models from default files and sectore models for some npcs like the Dark Drone and the golden 357 in maps 4 and 5. The massns and hgrunts as well, and the barney boss duo in map 5 are now equiped with longjumps and dual wield pistols
• Fixed map flow of map 5 so players do not rush the map too fast
• Fixed a missing displacer teleport in map 5
• Moved the barnacles at the start of map 4 so players do not die. They can still die if very unlucky
• Regenerated .res files because some extra files were added for the light wires
• Packed into a zip

• Fixed triggers on the start of map 4 with the boxes (default relays by the author were on triggerstate off > now they are toggle)
• Added more lights, sounds and cues like a text message when the elevator at the end of map 5 arrives
• Added cables to floating lights
• Added displacer teleports and different displacers for map advancement and shortcuts
• Added more ammo
• Fixed several bugs with triggers, and enemies not spawning
• Fixed lighting using reRad and some extra light entities
• Fixed map 5 walkthrough mapflow, now there is a clear path you have to take: some buttons and doors were fixed to cut player's paths properly
• Fixed map 4 problem with several breakables and triggers in the steam room area
• Moved explosive canister in map 4 to where it was originally as intended by the author
• Made several breakables have hud info for more clues
• Fixed some cutscenes in map 5 scripted sequences and enemies not attacking each other
• Now map 5 requires exploration fully, instead of just killing some enemies. You need the keycard for the door, and opening the drain hatch first before that
• Added more water in map 5 because part of it was broken in the sewers around the iong elevator
• A lot more details i can't remember right now, for example fixing some textures on the ending doors in map 4
• Added grapple texture at the long vent so you can rappel down safely without dying, added a green light just like the ones from previous maps, and reradded the map 5
• Regenerated .res files because some extra files were added for the light wires
• Packed into a zip

Not all resources sent to players

I've noticed that the RES files included do not distribute all files to players, so they often end up with sounds not being sent over. (Particularly speeches and the panther custom sounds.) I've therefore re-packed this map with all the resources, and included a RES files only pack.

Server operators in particular, please re-install this map so players get the whole content.

Edit: Forgot to say, this also fixes the kick ass music at the end of part 3 not playing. :)

Pure fun; classic black mesa walkthrough done exactly right with more than a pinch of Keen-style ingenuity thrown in. A classic SvenCoop experience that still surprises and keeps interest. A must-play.
