Map review of Instinct

A great map series that demonstrates Sven Co-op classic gameplay (i.e. Half-Life in co-op) at its best!
The level design does not venture out of the Half-Life’s original style, and generally limits itself to existing assets (textures, sound effects, NPCs) that it uses much like the original game did. It does not impress much nor does it disappoint in any ways (except for some overstretched textures).
What it lacks in originality or details is its pace and gameplay, which it manages to keep fun and engaging throughout the whole series.
Boss fights though are repetitive (such as fighting gonarchs) and generally amount to little more than firing at bugged NPCs with a lot of health (notable exception: the kingpin).
I would recommend this map for someone new to Sven Co-op and/or looking for the original "Half-Life in co-op" experience.
Pros:
- Great gameplay
- Well-paced
- Classic Half-Life feel
Cons:
- Boss fights, gonarchs in particular
